Star Wars: The Force Unleashed – Duel Mode

This is an in-depth summary on Star Wars: The Force Unleashed: Duel Mode. Duel mode is exclusive to the Nintendo Wii so if you haven’t got this game on that version you are really missing out. Especially because the story mode is pretty short, so what else is there to do on other consoles? Nothing really, apart from redo the story mode which is okay. Duel mode though is essential for all the star wars fans and anyone else buying this game because it’s just that good. To do a basic summary there are 27 characters (which I will say later) from the Star Wars universe, you see characters from episodes 1, 2 all the way to 6 and some extra ones that, unless you read every book going, you have never heard of before.

So duel mode is only two players and you will each pick a person, then you will select the number of kills you have to do until you win (1-5) and the time limit. You must then select out of 9 areas: In Orbit – TIE Construction Yard, Coruscant – Jedi Temple, Raxus Prime – Junkyard, Bespin – Carbonite Chamber, Kashyyyk – Wookie Village, Geonosis – Colosseum, Hoth – Battlefield, Tatooine – Ben’s Hovel and Felucia – Sarlacc Pit.

So on to characters, although there are 27 some are repeated in different clothing. For each character there are 4 “abilities”. These are: Lightsaber Power, Force Lightning, Force Grip and Force Push. Each fighter will either be: Low, Medium, High or Very High on each one of these abilities. So “Luke Skywalker” for example has a Medium Lightsaber Power, Low Force Lightning, Low Force Grip and Very High Force Push.

This is a list of all the characters in duel mode, whether with their stats (so if it was for Luke you would see this: “Luke Skywalker: Medium, Low, Low, Very High – It goes Lightsaber Power, then lightning, then grip and then push):

Yes I know that there are 11 different versions of the Apprentice but he is the main character of the game! Anyway there isn’t much else to say about the duel mode except that it is a really fun way to challenge your mates and have a lot of fun.

    Hi Luke,

Have you ever used this Wii Remote? If so the way to connect is to first open the compartment which stores the batteries. There you should see a little red button. Then open the small compartment on the front of the Wii where you should see another red button. Press both red buttons together to connect the wii remote.

    Hope this helps,

    Nick

    Nick,

I am attempting to play Duel Mode with my son. I read your comment about syncing the Wii remotes because I’m having the same problem for duel mode. I have used that 2nd player remote before for games like tennis, boxing, and Super Mario.

When I tried to sync the 2nd player Wii remote, all it did was interrupt the connection with the 1st Wii remote.

Should I try to sync the remotes at a different time, or maybe on the Wii setup or something?

    Please help, thanks!

    Opel I, and Opel II

    Hi Opel,

Are you trying it by pressing the red button at the back. The best way I can think of for you would be to go into the wii menu (by pressing the home button in any game) and then go to Wii remote settings. You can then select synchronise and you are required to press the 1 and 2 buttons on the wii remote simultaneously. If you do this with both remotes at the same time it should get both of them working. Remember to keep pressing the buttons until you hear a beep from both remotes. If that still isn’t working I would try replacing the batteries in the remote that doesn’t work.

    Nick
