Wii Sports, one of the very first games on the wii and one of the first games made only for the wii. At this moment you can’t buy it individually, you can only buy it in a wii bundle package but the chances are that when you bought it with your wii (if you have one) you’ve got it.
This game features 5 sports: Boxing, Baseball, Golf, Tennis & Bowling all of which are great. The motion sensors in the wii remote really show there true capability in this game and that is why if a wii sport was on every other console it would be the best on the wii. For example every other console (Xbox 360, PS3 etc) you can’t actually use your controller to jab out in front of you if you were doing boxing. You would just push the buttons and move the analog stick. On the wii however this isn’t the case.
You have to jab out in front of you for boxing, swing the remote like a tennis racquet in tennis, pretend it’s a bowling ball in bowling and well …. you get the picture. As well as the 5 sports you also get two unique modes, wii fitness and training mode. In training mode there are 3 mini-games for each sport. In wii fitness you pick your mii and do a series of challenges to find you fitness age, which will end up with 20 being the lowest and the highest being 80. This age is calculated in terms of balance, stamina, & speed. You can only do it once a day.

Okay player wise then. For tennis, bowling, golf and the training mode you can have up to 4 players. You only have to have 1 remote for all of them excluding tennis where you need a remote per person (1 remote = 1 person, 2 remote = 2 people etc). For baseball and boxing you can only have a maximum of 2 players, and lastly for wii fitness you can only have 1 person playing.
On each sport there is a unique skill level each player receives. This is based on how well you have played. So if you win you get more points while if you lose you won’t get as much and eventually you could even lose points! Once you get over 1000 points you become a pro! If you get over 2000 points you don’t get anything but not many people have got over that level of skill. As well as the skill level while in training mode you can get bronze, silver, gold and even platinum medals depending on what score you get.
Okay one of the best cheats in this game I believe is the tennis cheat. Are you fed up with the boring green pitch every time you play tennis? Then look no further just hold down the ‘2’ button on the wii remote at the warning screen just after you have selected your characters. This will get you a blue mat exactly like the one you use in training mode for tennis, which has no crowd.
I would give it a rating of 8.8/10
